Mutate some new limbs and abilities as you go, and become the ultimate Throne hunter. Or the game might just hand you a screwdriver. Use simple weaponry like quintuple-barreled bazookas, super plasma cannons or exquisite cursed laser miniguns. All you need to do is take control of one of those mutants and shoot the things trying to kill you. Not ‘the final hope of humanity’ post-apocalyptic, but ‘humanity is extinct and weird mutants and terrifying monsters now roam the world’ post-apocalyptic. The idea behind Vlambeer’s Nuclear Throne is simple: it’s a post-apocalyptic roguelike-like top-down shooter.

Here's the problem though, the Linux download is now completely broken. Pretty awesome to see modders get recognised like that! Things like area/weapon/mutation seeding is now far more consistent, native cursor support to get rid of mouse lag, localization support and lots of balancing changes too.įor this update, Vlambeer (the developer) actually hired a modder going by the name "YellowAfterlife", who created the Nuclear Throne Together mod to help make it. On top of squashing bugs, they've also implemented plenty of quality of life changes too. There's a massive list of bugs that have been fixed which will result in a much better game overall. While this update is not big on features, it is big on the polish. Nuclear Throne, the fast-paced post-apocalyptic roguelike-like (that's how they describe it!) top-down shooter had a big update today. Update: The Linux version now actually downloads something, but you might need to run a command to get it working.
